Dolphin South Trattoria: Exquisite Dining Experience in Pleasantville

Came here for a quick after work drink with my coworkers. Ambiance was great! We tried the fried ravioli, Burrata Malato, and fries which were all very delicious! We also had the Millefolglie for dessert (pictured) which was more than enough for 3 people. The in house limoncello was also delicious! Will be back for more!

Have you dined at Dolphin South on Wheeler Ave. in Pleasantville? The food was made to order and all around delicious. The young staff was knowledgeable, attentive and immediately won us over. Jewel, our lovely server with a charming personality prepared a freshly squeezed pink grapefruit cocktail with vodka which is now my new favorite cocktail. My husband and I shared a generous arugula salad with pickled onions and beets mixed with a light and flavorful dressing. My guy enjoyed the orecchiette pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage. I consumed grilled to perfection vegetables with melted cheese. In addition to the delicious food, the atmosphere is comfortable. Many of the staff attend Pleasantville High School or Pace which really adds to the local ambiance. May 2025 Greet Alex, the masterful bartender at Dolphin South Trattoria 39 Wheeler Ave. in Pleasantville, NY. His dexterous hands move swiftly to prepare cocktails made from scratch in the traditional way, with no short cuts. Don't miss his combination of magician qualities, balletic hand motions and precision. He's friendly and engaging while he entertains and prepares the artful cocktails that he serves up.

The restaurant is small and narrow but bright. Service is excellent. Lots of choices. But very overpriced for the food quality. We shared the burato/pesto/prosciutto appetizer. I've had better prosciutto elsewhere. This was thicker than I expected. My meal was a goat cheese salad with grilled shrimp. The goat cheese was in little pre-made cubes, which I found odd (not fresh) and my shrimp were SO overcooked that they were rubbery. I could not cut them and pulled them off the plate. That poor! My companion had a nice gluten-free pasta with bolognes sauce and enjoy his meal. So I gave it a 3.

Dolphin South is a must attend restaurant. The owner is engaged with every guest that goes through the door. He has built a great team behind him who offer a team approach to service at all of the tables. You’ll never hear “Let me get your server” here when you have a request while dining. It’s all hands on deck and you can tell they all work well together. Met up with some friends and ate at the bar where Alex is at the helm, another attentive employee at your service. He made recommendations, excellent drinks and kept all our glasses full, including the water! Always quick with entertaining banter as well! The specials change and the selections on the every day menu are all can’t miss entrees options one & all! Desserts are in point as well if you have the room after their well portioned entrees. They were working on a pistachio lava cake experiment on a different night when I was out to dinner with my wife. Not sure if that concept was enhanced but it was excellent the day we tried it, served a la mode & it was a home run! Looking forward to more care free nights of exceptional cuisine out at Dolphin South A+ Across the Board!!

I have eaten here many times and highly recommend this resturant. Its a family owned and run, top noch, place. I am a fan of fish and they did it very well. I had grilled octipus and steelhead trout, they were excellent. The trout is a pink fresh water fish, it's seldom seen on a menu. I recommend the cod fish as well. The side of pasta in a red sauce was done perfectly. I also was given a very nice salad included with my meal. I highly recommend a visit. They make home made bread and pasta. Salad is also included with your meal. I have returned several times and highly recommend the eggplant parm., this is my go to vegan meal. It does have cheese, I love it. I recommend the skate franchese. Looks like a new offering.

This place is what all restaurants should aspire to be. The atmosphere, the food, the mixed drinks and most importantly the service are all spectacular!! The owner takes great pride in making sure every customer is happy. The staff seem to be bonded and enjoy working together. We’ve never had a bad meal here and when we’ve had a table of ten or fourteen, the food temperature and service is still outstanding!!! Try the sangria, it’s to die for!!!

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Pleasantville. Homemade bread, homemade pasta, a delicious vegetarian Fusilli Aum Aum that is to die for, and kind attentive staff all make for a relaxing and delicious outing. We came in the afternoon when the traffic was low and basked in the red flower lined outdoor area for hours, topping off our meal with tiramisu, limoncello, and coffee. Everything was delicious but especially the Aum Aum with its savory eggplant sauce.

I really enjoyed this pasta. Nothing too mind-blowing but definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve had in Westchester. The texture of the pasta is amazing. Highly recommend both the meatballs (classic) and the black linguine which had an array of mussels, shrimp, and calamari that were very fresh!
